Otherwise, you are welcome to use the pool/sunbed facilities. Can we stay in the villa later than the confirmed vacating time of 10am? Please ask at the time of booking. It might be that they are able to delay cleaning the villa, particularly if no-one is staying the night you leave. Even if you have to vacate the villa by10am, a poolside room is available for your suitcases. Does the villa have a safe? Yes, there is a small safe for passports and other valuables. There is also an iron and ironing board, a washing machine and clothes line with pegs, and outside tables and chairs. Can you drink the water from the taps? The water is okay for cleaning your teeth or for making tea or coffee, but we would recommend bottled water for drinking. The water in restaurants is always bottled and the ice in drinks is okay. The electrics in the villa are Spanish and most sockets require the two round pin type adaptors. We have provided some adaptors for your use, but extra ones can be taken with you or bought locally at any supermarket. What shops and services are nearby? Cala San Vicente is a small village, and nowhere is more than 15 minutes walk away. There are several small supermarkets, a dozen or so restaurants, some beach bars and cafes, a newsagent selling (that day’s) English papers, a mini golf course, and other retail holiday outlets. Larger supermarkets and local markets are available just out side Cala San Vicente, in nearby Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa. What is a welcome pack and what is in it? If you wish, we can arrange for the delivery of some basic essentials which usually include tea, coffee, water, juice, milk, bread and jam. Don’t rely on the pack to feed you for days it is only intended to last until the local shops open! There are several sizes of welcome pack, averaging about 40 euros. For your Information, we would only really recommend a welcome pack if you are arriving late in the evening. What size is the pool? The pool measures 15m x 7m. A small partition exists to segregate part of the shallow end from the deep end, for the safety of younger children. How do we get from the airport to the villa? We can help arrange transfers to and from the airport, using the ‘Resort Hoppa’ service. Please ask when making your booking. Do we need to hire a car? Some guests want to do nothing other than to spend time in Cala San Vicente, and there is more than enough for them to do without needing a car. However, most tend to do at least some exploring of this beautiful island. Although taxis can be used, we have found that car hire on the island is reasonably inexpensive. Ordinarily, we have found that the cheapest website for this purpose is www.carjet.com . If you require help with this we can book the vehicle for you. This website allows up to four named drivers without additional charge. What are the driving licence requirements in Mallorca? Standard UK driving licences are fine. You do not require the new type with photo ID at this stage. Please feel free to e mail us if you have any further questions and we will try and help. adrian@blueskylettings. |
